School-Based Mental Health Support & Partnerships

Flexible scheduling | Available school-based, virtual, or in-clinic

Every school and student body is unique. MSC creates custom partnerships to fit the specific needs of your school. We understand the increase of mental health struggles with our youth and are here to support you and your students.

What’s Included:

  • Direct student support through 1:1 on-site counseling sessions

  • Classroom observations and intervention planning tailored to student needs

  • Small group facilitation (self-esteem, emotional regulation, executive functioning, etc.)

  • Custom SEL programming — single lessons or year-long curricula designed with schools

  • Mental health and suicide risk assessments with family communication and follow-up

  • Parent, teacher, and staff trainings on topics like anxiety, school refusal, and resilience

  • Ongoing collaboration with school teams to ensure continuity of care

Crisis Intervention Support Program

Flexible scheduling | Available school-based, virtual, or in-clinic

Designed for students in acute emotional distress, this program provides immediate, short-term support to stabilize crises and restore safety and functioning.

What’s Included:

  • Immediate intake and risk assessment by a licensed therapist

  • Crisis planning with safety strategies and coping skills

  • Short-term individual and family therapy

  • Parent coaching and school-based support

  • Collaboration with teachers and staff for continuity of care

  • Progress monitoring and transition planning

  • Referrals and resources

School Refusal Program

Structured therapeutic program | 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Our School Refusal Program provides a full-day therapeutic structure for students experiencing difficulty attending school. We combine therapy, academic support, and skills-based groups to help students return to the classroom with confidence.

What’s Included:

  • Daily parent check-ins and check-outs

  • Therapist-led morning groups focused on goal setting and emotional regulation

  • Academic support tailored to each student

  • Skills-based group sessions targeting executive functioning and social-emotional growth

  • Recreational therapy to build resilience and teamwork

  • Personalized treatment planning with a licensed therapist as case manager

  • Ongoing family sessions, psychiatric evaluations, parent coaching, and school coordination

Learn About Testing

Psychologists at Main Street Counseling conduct personalized and comprehensive assessments that can provide a detailed understanding of a person’s abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Psychological assessments are typically recommended when a person is suspected of having impairments in cognitive, academic, emotional, or behavioral functioning. The battery of assessments provided is tailored to each individual’s concerns and overall goals.
