Genesis Martinez, LPC

Adolescent & Adult Therapist

B.A in Psychology
M.S. Clinical Counseling

I am a psychotherapist who specializes in evidence-based treatment for adolescents, young adults, emerging adults, and adults navigating eating disorders, mood disorders, life transitions, academic stress, identity development, self-esteem issues, trauma, and anxiety.

I completed my clinical internship at Ascend CHC, where I worked with individuals across the lifespan facing eating disorders at both the individual and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels. In addition to my clinical work, I have extensive experience conducting neuropsychological assessments and have worked in diverse settings supporting individuals with neurocognitive disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and personality disorders.

As a Latine woman, I understand the deep cultural stigmas that can surround mental health. I approach therapy with a commitment to cultural humility and inclusivity, creating a space where clients feel safe, accepted, and free from judgment. My therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, and grounded in empathy—always honoring the client’s lived experience. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is central to healing and tailor each session to meet clients where they are.

My approach draws on a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am especially passionate about IFS, which invites us to connect with the different "parts" of ourselves—whether those parts are protective, wounded, or burdened by past experiences. In our work together, we explore and understand these parts with compassion, allowing for greater self-awareness, inner harmony, and healing. Through this lens, I help clients unblend from overwhelming thoughts or emotions and reconnect with their core Self—the calm, wise, and compassionate center within us all.

My goal is to help each person I work with build a stronger, more confident relationship with themselves, fostering a path toward lasting growth and meaningful change.
